> I think it funny how much average engineers are beginning to discover the challenges of engineering leadership and program management.
This looks like we choose to hear what we want to hear.
The understanding argument is about making the point that "The point was always to augment" the human understanding when we worked with the machines.

Eclipses have a special consequence to the human history. It is noted by Asimov that the first correct prediction of the Eclipse was done in May 28, 585 by Thales of Miletus and this event is considered the "Birth of Science". It took approximately 1500 years from the first (recorded) observation of eclipse (in china), the correct prediction of the solar eclipse in advance. This is truly marvelous.
Incidentally, unknown and not connected with the prediction, during the same eclipse, a 5 year battle between Medes and the Lydians came to stop as the armies got scared, if it was a divine intervention and they let their arms down.

It’s time for AI to prove its unequivocal value to the world, and what better way to demonstrate that than to help finally cure diseases like cancer.
Here is someone spelling out explicitly what we should be discussing.
More power to you, Demis Hassabis. Thank you!

It looks like there is a huge opportunity for Linux distros to become the de-facto operating system not just on servers, but on desktop used by general public too. It is free and perhaps using AI can be made significantly better for people using windows or mac to migrate over.
Which distribution is trying to capitalizing on this momentum? If no one, why not?

The interesting thing is, US media, US social media driven by Big Tech algorithms, Google Search, nytimes, reddit, Social newsfeeds of students, teens, teachers is not exposing this at all. It feels like we are self-contained information exposure bubble too. Only a physical visit outside of US, and looking at the information from outside of US will give a picture of the mistakes being made here.

This would be better if it was open source, and giving the option for the user to save the context in their storage (like Google drive) and load from it. I think, people might find it useful.
The target audience could be folks who use claude , chatgpt on web or as desktop clients. They hardly know or care about .md files.

I think, we all are phrasing this wrong. Bun was <strike>rewritten</strike> retooled in Rust by AI with only ensuring integration tests and usage tests succeed. That's similar how to a C program was compiled to binary or Typescript was transpiled to Javascript and run. We didn't make a very big deal of it then, and I think, we should see this operation as a similar higher level source to source translation, which machines have been doing.
Writing code is a different thing.

An important context is, there is a large scale non-violent protest and a Gandhian fast lead by Sonam Wangchuk. https://x.com/Wangchuk66/status/2080471599237702014
Indian Government is struggling to address this issue at face. PM Modi hasn't responded to this in public. To address this, Government is taking into all sort of measures like blocking public communication and social media. Like they have done for other measures like for terrorism , control and govt lead propaganda to control the narrative.
It is interesting that they tried to do this app with a _miniscule_ usage. Usage might be so small, that they could have bothered less about it.
But since they did it, Jack Dorsey is now using his clout to share about this app and bring some light on the situation. With what we have seen with Twitter/X and not-standing up to Elon, let's just remember that Dorsey isn't champion of free speech either.
