Exactly, they release cool consumer stuff, but they aren't releasing anything close to the performance of the best open weight Chinese models. They basically compete in the "fun running at home doing basic stuff" scene. (Except OSs 120 by openai but it's been ages since then)

The three American labs don't release big open source models. Except gpt-oss, i guess. It's an absolute shame how far the us has fallen in this space.

I don't believe you can minimize civilian damage more than that, if a target is always among civilians. You can only push so much, like the pager attack was probably the most minimizing one, but obviously and unfortunately civilians still got caught.

For the international law part, interesting debate i think, where the state acts in self-defense if it has sustained an “armed attack” by its adversary;. Obviously this is very broad, but i think you can easily argue the last 40 year of fire exchanges as a continued armed attack.

That's fair, we aren't anywhere close to that though right? From research I saw, investors usually push prices down.

Tangent but corporate landlords in my experience are so much better than mom and pops.

I don't generally agree, i think they should be able to buy them as well. We can't limit how many homes people own, how do you rent then? What do we classify as "too much" house ownership? 10?100?1000?

What's immensely frustrating is so much of this conspiracy shit, comes from the U.S. as well. A population where the median is living better every year, and better than 90% of the world. It's mind boggling, people don't understand how good they have it.

I'm not against progress, obviously make things better, but the perspective is important.
