I agree. I've been holding BTC for a couple of years as I feel that international accessibility coupled with scarcity makes for a great store of value. But DeFi I still fail to wrap my head around.

My main concern being: DeFi could get harsh competition from traditional financial actors by them getting up to date on accessibility. Thus appealing to a new, more decentralized userbase.

I'm pretty sure the advantage of serverless is that you can use microservices for your MVPs. The gains for a one-man team might not be ovious, but I like to believe that once a project needs scaling it is not as painful as tearing down the monolith.

I think they are referring to the idea of "apparatus" from Michel Foucault.

I think these are two different languages for two different jobs.

I can see javascript slowly expanding from the front-end into the back-end, mostly thanks to projects like TypeScript that appeal to the back-end crowds, but also because of the whole serverless hype which IMO is justified.

Now there still is a strong "cultural divide" between the software and the data-science communities. And when you see how strong the innertia for python's projects is.. Well I guess we won't see this changing anytime soon.
