    Paid software ensures quality assurance.

I believe counter-examples exist for both models. Many FOSS projects have avoided becoming tools for user exploitation, while numerous paid software products have deteriorated due to corporate greed.</p>

<p>As far as I know all the auction mechanisms are equal[1], in the sense that:
1. the items are assigned to the same bidders (paying the same)
2. the revenue of the auctioneer is the same<p>In that sense you could chose the system that fits you the most.
