<p>I think we are already past that point. With Apple Macbook, Google Chromebook and Microsoft Surface, we pretty much have all consumer computer echo system become ARM based.
Thanks to AMDs resurgence the server space is still heavily x86 based.</p>

<p>I sometimes do find different prices for same products with amazon pushing me to buy product with prime shipping.<p>If you use an extension like Honey, it will warn you that a product is available for lower price without Prime.</p>

<p>In the recent AMA, they claimed that the average cost per user would be around $1/month. Apollo dev believes it will be much more than.<p>I feel Reddit could have easily come up with a model where the API usage gets tied to premium account and that decouples apps from API charges.<p>Reddit has now created a new problem for itself which is that a huge user base that previously didn't bother to look at third-party apps has suddenly become aware of third-party apps. So now, they will start bypassing Reddit's official apps that generate revenue for Reddit in favor of third-party apps that seemingly have a better UX and are ad-free.</p>

<p>This! I tried using third-party apps and for some reason didn't like them. The official app is clunky but it is not like we haven't seen similar experiences with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.<p>I mean look at Twitter, since going private, the whole thing has been so clunky, but the parameters governing how well Twitter is doing are still hinging policies related free speech, user-abuse and content moderation.</p>

<p>You are describing an emergency scenario. Everyone should be prepared for emergencies but I don't think having a gas furnace or stove should be part of that plan. Using them during a power outage can be extremely dangerous.</p>
