I love iosevka, but really wish they'd ship a variable font version of it. The argument against it was that variable fonts didn't support as many different parameters as they needed, but that argument fell flat for me. They could still ship variable versions of the fonts with the settings variables don't cover the way they do now

What's even more amazing/sad is that Matroska containers support much of it, but no one has implemented a player that has all of them

I second this. But I used to use SyncThing for sync. Now I use Bookorbit and the Koreader plug-in for sync

It beats the pants off kindle

Koreader has a number of plugins for Bluetooth support on various devices, and you can buy cheap "tiktok remotes" for a few bucks that work with them

I got a "tiktok ring" that I use to read in bed, and it's fantastic

I don't know why they refuse to make a new oasis like kindle. Horizontal and square is extremely comfortable to read on

The abandonment of Oasis, coupled with their DRM goofs, led me to a Boox Go, with Koreader, and Ive never been happier

I still host dinner parties. I even had one last night! But this article does touch on many things

I like hosting. People like attending. But they never do. I'll host several a year, and there are constantly people who say they'll come, and then never do

I'm not at the point no longer inviting people, but I've thought about it before

Claude has yet to tell me about the terrible pain in all the diodes down his left side, so I'm going to assume it's closer to Eddy the shipboard computer or the elevator that wanted to go down

Mimo has long been one of my preferred models. It works well at many code tasks, generally has a pleasant voice, and isn't prone to over-analzing and researching

Also when I was using it, I managed to do quite a bit on a few bucks worth of OpenRouter credits. Not sure how well it keeps up in the modern world against things like Luna, but I hope it remains competitive

I used to go play board games and such at a local shop. Stopped years ago. Just too much bs about anything.

Nowdays I occasionally host small DnD games, and its a blast. But its invite only, and we're not afraid to not invite people in the future. But our group works and plays well with each other, and it's been blissfully drama free

I have actually seen some roundabout like constructs on parts of the interstate. They're giant, far larger than singular interchanges, and serve to handle multiple branches and belt loops.

Of course, they are augmented by allowing the main direction of travel to bypass the circle and go over/under it

Thank you for mentioning the asymmetrical traffic flow problem. YUMBL even managed to reproduce this using cities skylines, and there's an intersection near my house that's maddening for this. Large two lane circle, downstream from a traffic signal. When the signal is red you can use the circle normally. But when the signal turns green and there's a massive influx of traffic, forget about entering the circle from any point other than the one downstream of the light. Effectively one light controls two intersections

At a previous gig we had a simple "reset staging" task on gha, that ran once a week on Tuesday

It ran fine for years, then around November just stopped and never ran again. Tried moving it around for which time it would trigger, and it just never started again. Opened a ticket, and got nowhere
