Indeed been using the new Siri since June and it fails a ton in comparison to chatGPT voice!
Using chatGPT voice i can see Open AI's push for pushing us to a new Internet voice paradigm 1st with screens/visuals secondary & complimentary to possibly none at all. It would be much safer especially when driving to get super intelligent human like directions where voice says drive to the mcdonalds on dorset you go to all the time and across the street is the new 7 Brew coffee shop.

Yeah Im aware but it could lead to better integration and or an all out buy out.
If you have ever used chatGPT voice for directions you could forsee that super intelligent contextual directions are safer then looking at a screen. I.e. "That new mechanic is across the street from the McDonalds on Dorset," in a locale you are familiar with.

Been using the new Siri since June. ChatGPT voice is still superior!
Please Apple let me easily swap out Siri for chatGPT voice! Work together .. buy them or something. Their voice conversation tech is superior and can help save lives when driving!

It's a shitshow for those unemployed looking for their next info sector/digital asset creation job. You are better off doing welding building out the Ai data centers if you want long term properous financial stable employment.

For taking pics of nature and taking pics of friends and family whom asked for a picture?
Let's see if Google/Samsung's upcoming smart glasses releasing Fall 2026 get as much flack as Meta who many techies hate Meta/Facebook.

yeah in time im hoping to mix my 17 years in creative tech with my new healthcare career. Hopefully get back to the money I was making, but humbled and happy to start at the bottom again for stability and always have a job waiting if needed. At least until the healthcare field gets filled with others like me.

In January after 8 years (17 years in tech overall) at the same govt IT firm in the Mid-Atlanic region I was laid off. I quickly enrolled in healthcare classes and starting my clinical rotation for low level healthcare position ($25 an hour hopefully vs. multiples in tech) in September. Also, I will be doing my clinical Radiology rotation this time next year. Still won't be making the same money but i dont see a future in creative tech anymore when anyone can type to create graphics, songs, web designs, websites, iPhone apps, etc. This note of his reinforces what I thought I should do and what I am doing is the right path.

Indeed, when the mood hits me I will pick up my guitar and sing one of my songs into voice memo. I then upload via the cover feature in Suno.
I've written songs since high school, so having AI turn my old vocal guitar and or keyboard demos into full tracks was a fun trip down memory lane. After a few months, though, the novelty wore off and AI music started feeling totally uninspiring, even my own stuff. I canceled my Suno subscription as AI is killing my and possibly our web design/development careers.

Interesting so far the majority of the comments here are for typing into a textbox (no talent needed) to create songs vs. hating AI Music.
I do use Suno to turn my real human songs into polished tracks. I'm not a good singer and in earshot ppl like my AI produced songs. Though, I go in waves of listening only to my AI stuff to being uninspired & not listening to it.
A weird thing happened to me on a recent date where i got AI Music catfished (https://ryanspahn.substack.com/p/new-trend-ai-music-catfishi...). My date was catfishing not their looks but their talents as a singer / even a musician. Weird, but maybe not so weird in a few years...

Tell that to graphic designers as do you think that's a career a student going into college should pursue? Same with web design and web development (AI companies now are trying / working on shifting us away to less screens/more voice).... like would you tell a freshman in college to pursue those degrees vs. medical stuff and or skip college altogether, rather pick up tools to help build those data centers?

Well and overall like all of us who aren't extremely wealthy I need a job. Healthcare provides the stability I am use to and to pay my bills. I would still love to work in tech but the stability and the high demand for our skills is dwindling (i must prepare and have access to a 2nd awesome career), especially web design and development where the Internet paradigm shifts from screens to voice. As I forsee it doing https://ryanspahn.substack.com/p/openais-rumored-speaker-bel...

Loved remote working from 2019 to early 2026. No doubt it was the best type of job for my health as there was little stress and I was never lonely. I made sure I found new friends (like in 2024 I found a happy hour group via Bumble for Friends of 6 other dudes in which we gather every Tuesday. Also, one of them is my European travel buddy as his kid now lives in Europe) and strengthened other friendships.
I am now one of the millions out of work techies yet Im starting a new job and career in healthcare soon. Definitely am missing remote work but i need to pay my bills. Further, IT especially web design and development is a dying field especially with the upcoming voice Internet paradigm shift I see and in which Open AI is working on now (wrote about such here https://ryanspahn.substack.com/p/openais-rumored-speaker-bel...)

Overall I need financial stability. Today, anyone with a keyboard can do graphic design, web dev, or app creation, leaving millions of tech workers competing for fewer and fewer jobs. While my history of unique tech ideas earned attention and interest over the last 15 years, none brought steady income. Tech is no longer a viable primary career for me, so I am pivoting to healthcare for guaranteed financial stability, started school in June and already have a gig lined up for November. I will miss IT, and I will keep building AI concepts like this one I created in july (https://payplay.music) on the side, but healthcare provides the reliable paycheck I need right now and in the future.
