Not op but I guess the assumption here is that people would rather have less responsibility so need to be compensated to have more? I'm not sure this is true, but don't know if responsibility is its own reward. Maybe the status that responsibility conveys is?

I think the exercise is more about exposing you to other solution options (to 'break your anchoring bias'). You still have to exercise judgement as to which solution is right for the situation.

I don't think he's saying 'it cannot be physically made to work (given enough effort and discipline)'. The impression I got was more like 'if you go down this route then the incremental path of least resistance leads somewhere bad'.

350f sounds too low to me. First crack (beginning of a very light roast) is around 200c/392f. Most coffee is roasted quite a bit darker than that - e.g. 220c and above

I think the point is that the quantity of CO2e dumped into the atmosphere when you make a cotton bag has a much worse environmental impact than the plastic bag dumped in landfill.

This is going to sound stupid, but after a while of shaving with a double-edged razor I found I could shave in the shower with no lather.

I just wait until I'm done washing and the steam has had a chance to soften the hair, then shave directly in the shower. It took a couple of weeks of shaving daily for my skin to get used to it but now I get it done with no irritation. An advantage of no lather/gel is that I can keep putting my face under the shower to keep the hair soft.

(I shave without a mirror, and then clean up afterwards)

This isn't going to be for everyone, and it certainly isn't as close as a gilette, but I can get the shave done in a couple of minutes.
