I am building https://ranktools.io
An SEO lead generation SaaS that builds interactive content on user’s websites.
Ranktools builds content like tools, calculators, generators - publishes them, builds backlinks on autopilot and generates leads via CTAs built directly into the tools.
It’s also not AI slop as a human reviews every piece of content before it goes live!

I think a lot of people in the UK would agree with this. It's not perfect but the rail system on the whole is pretty great for getting around the country. There's some annoying things like having to go to a hub to go back the way you came sometimes. But without a sprawling expensive network that's somewhat unavoidable. And obviously some lines are worse than others re delays and cancellations.
Most complaints in the UK are about cost of tickets. They are very valid complaints imo, the cost of getting a train in this country can be absurd. There would be a really positive attitude towards train travel in the UK and our rail system if it wasn't trying to bankrupt you every time you use it.

While doing a lot of reading around marketing I noticed that many popular marketing tools and SaaS businesses provide really interesting data in free reports.
Mostly they do this to attract leads for their business - some do offer reports with no strings attached though. However I realised that quite often the data and research they provide in the reports is well worth giving an email address anyway.
These reports are a mix of data that pertains to how users use their platforms for their marketing purposes and survey research of their customers and general consumers.
For example large email marketing SAAS companies often release very interesting data on how their users are marketing, what the trends are in email marketing and what consumers are interacting with.
Marketing based SaaS companies across all the difference facets of marketing release these kinds of reports - so I thought I would aggregate them all in once place.
I also pulled an interesting quote from each report and summarised them briefly so interested readers can get an idea of if it’s a report they want to read.

Tipping in the UK at restaurants has been a thing for a long time.
However it’s normally included in the bill as service charge so you just pay the bill and don’t have to decide how much to leave yourself. In London it’s usually 12.5%.
You are allowed to ask them to remove service charge from the bill but it’s an uncommon thing to ask.

This is an interesting point to get into but the article is light on detail.
The water claim is from an academic paper, I found slightly more detail in another article: “In a paper due to be published later this year, Ren’s team estimates ChatGPT gulps up 500 milliliters of water (close to what’s in a 16-ounce water bottle) every time you ask it a series of between 5 to 50 prompts or questions. The range varies depending on where its servers are located and the season. The estimate includes indirect water usage that the companies don’t measure — such as to cool power plants that supply the data centers with electricity.”
These estimates are partly based on this data: “In its latest environmental report, Microsoft disclosed that its global water consumption spiked 34% from 2021 to 2022 (to nearly 1.7 billion gallons, or more than 2,500 Olympic-sized swimming pools), a sharp increase compared to previous years that outside researchers tie to its AI research.”

I actually made a post a few years ago about how the UK could look to replace fuel duty as cars move away from ICE.
Fuel duty is a huge source of revenue for the UK government. I remember reading that to replace it solely with a rise in income tax it would require taking the base rate income tax from 20% to 24% at least which is huge.

I’m very excited to see how this progresses and how A.I. can help solve medical issues that have up to now stumped us.
One really interesting thing they’ve reported about this is that it requires a head set to connect the brain implants to the spine electrodes, but after a while the patient was able to walk using a stroller without the headset because the body regrew nerve tissue and Reenabled some connection to the brain.

I think this is actually quite common now - where you get permission from a person to use their review of your product but they don't want you to use their likeness.
Maybe sometimes it feels a bit much to ask to use someone's review and also ask for a photo of them.
It is somewhat disingenuous but I don't think I mind too much if they are legit customer reviews.
