Check out the Intel Quark, it was a <50mhz x86 that was resized and re-done on a smaller feature fab and runs on a watch battery (its a bios battery), a full x86 SOC!
I dont know what feats of engineering went into it, it is discontinued, but it is a very tiny x86

Okay now you're someplace without internet but you have your 128GB workstation laptop with a 24GB GPU. Still waiting to work on a project that has assets "online if you just search"?
Or are you going to make a font by hand? From memory?
Not everything has to be done the way you think it needs to be done.

There was an issue recently with synapse, tbe matrix server implementation, where ram usage would grow until OOM.
The solution was to upgrade Python. But I won't, because that was the problem in the first place, here, apparently.
Oddly if I ran the whole thing under memray with a different allocator, no issue. I say oddly but it isn't.
So I guess my matrix server is broken until I rehome it on a new server with a fresh python instead of 3.10.8.

I am pro-choice, but really I'm hoping there is enough advancement in medicine to "fix" genetic issues and the sorts of things people would terminate after a positive test result.
If that is actually possible someday, legitimately, I am switching to pro-life.
With only rape/incest or mother's certain death as reasons for termination.
I realise this is a weird and nuanced take, but I was adopted and it was back when they forced the mother to keep the kid for 6 months before they'd place tbe kid. Puritanical nonsense?
Make it so accidental pregnancy is 0.0001% (a thousand times less likely than perfect condom and pill/IUD use;) and the above "can fix", and what reason would there be to terminate?
I am anti-death penalty too.

What's the most common thing you hear when you do this? Usually its nothing, but the second most common thing is: "no, sir, your email address."
It gives me the fuzzies every time to explain I own the domain, and every email address on it is mine.
Since I have it on my phone, I can usually receive the email that they send very quickly and prove that everything's working fine.
I am wondering how hard it is to do this again today with a new domain though.

Dont use a random IP to host? I use fastmail, even though they're trying to convince me that I need to pay ~$45 now instead of $5/year.
And they sent me an email explaining how grateful I should be, that I'm grandfathered in to being able to use my own domain on a "plan" they dont even offer., in a plan that didn't offer custom domains.
Well how'd I get all that then? I signed up for fastmail explicitly because $5/yr for custom domains.
Anyhow if you pay a host you're probably fine. Or find someone with an old /24 thats had a /31 or /32 unused for a long while, and no other black marks against the /24. And use that IP, set up demarc and all the other new email DNS stuff.

> develop and iterate leading electric vehicles so fast.
How do you know this for a fact? Chinese press releases? You've driven one? Some auto blogger drove one?
After world war 2 Gorbachev or whoever visited the United States and during that trio visited a supermarket. He thought it was a facade, possibly, put on just for him, there's no way Americans are this prosperous (or whatever, this good at agriculture, farm equipment, etc)
Also do the race cars have 4 wheel drive, or all-wheel drive? I'm wagering all-wheel with "torque vectoring" and "Yaw control", like a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.

Well, mindless self indulgence is very loud and aggresive, so an album that is a single CD is 2 vinyls.
I'd have to use my usb record player and rip some records and determine loudness vs length to get some baseline, though.
Then again, maybe most CD albums are two LPs, I only have a half dozen 2-LP albums, most older stuff is single LP.
Is that because albums have gotten longer, or louder? Both?
