Tire noise is the major contributor at speed, and it looks like even in a typical US residential street with 20-25 mph speed limits, tire noise already dominates.

> the problem that now reviewers have to figure out what changed
That's something that the review tool can solve, and I agree that github doesn't handle it well. But other code review tools can show diffs between revisions independently of how the commits have been rebased or squashed over time.

I constantly take advantage of the automatic benefits you mentioned, and also love the ability to navigate a log minute by minute, interleave multiple logs within the same timeline, navigate through errors or warnings, and how easy it is to deal with spammy logs by using filter-in and filter-out. Thanks!

All those leaks contribute to the externalities of natural gas. I don't know the relative contributions between extraction and distribution, but leaks in the distribution network are also a problem in Europe [1]. It's certainly true that extraction leaks can be so substantial as to make shale gas worse than coal [2] (twice worse over 20 years!).
Landfills (and agriculture) are big sources of methane. I think this is a pretty good start to figure out what the EU is doing to reduce all sources [3].
[1] https://www.uu.nl/en/publication/scientists-discover-more-me...

This will depend on the specific threat model for the sensitive data you are dealing with, but generally files in an SSD can't be destroyed securely (and shred specifically does not help due to wear leveling).
Instead, you may want to encrypt your disk so that as soon as the key is gone it all becomes unreadable. For a bigger threat, maybe you need to follow the NIST destroy guidelines [1] to "Disintegrate, Pulverize, Melt, and Incinerate" the media.
1: https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/specialpublications/nist.s...

Altitude is definitely a challenge, but I don't agree that peaks below 4000 m are amateur mountaineering and elite is reserved for 8000ers. As an example, Marc-André Leclerc made some incredible first solo ascents below 4000 m like the Corkscrew on Cerro Torre, at 3128 m (10,262 ft). The Alpinist [1] is worth watching if you are into mountaineering!
1: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt11790780/

It took us almost a week to figure out what was going on. The tiny fibers are essentially impossible to remove, and very hard to see unless you know what to look for.
