My point of view , from Europe, is that political violence is already there in the US. As well as state violence (not just on political opponents, but also on all minorities and "people who have a different opinion"). The next step is indeed a second civil war, with 21st century characteristics (hybrid war, etc...) I am not enthusiastic about the near future for the US nor for the world.

N>1, proportion of colourblind people depends on the origin, but there are many of us. In Europe, nearly 10% of males are impacted by one of the colourblind variant, aka millions of people. Some of those people are dev, designers, or working alongside some sort color requirements, but none of them are graphists and can choose colors. Having a tool to provide a name instead of an hex code is useful to discuss colors with other stakeholders (customers, colleagues, etc...)

Well .. it depends on other assumptions, like the amount and type of energy allowed (continuous gigawatt electricity access during the trip ?), amount of "roughness" the human can sustain during the trip (canonball a human packed in an big airbag ?), actual budget limit for the project, etc ....

Bikes, even muscular ones, can be annoying to pedestrians on thin hiking paths. My take is that even if they allow one/a few/a capped number, then it's out of the bottle, and people will try to game the system one way or another

Same here (except Chile). It's weird/sad/expected because of Comcast & others that the US are still not reliably connected everywhere. From the country that brought us the internet!? In my (European) country, you have to live in a swamp far away from everything to not have FTTH legibility, in the same ballpark prices as the comment above. Static IP as a (free) opt-in.

Same here. If you skip to a random part of the movie, and move frame by frame, it becomes a game of "spot the penis". Just one or two can be "tolerated", but we're far from that here, so ... My opinion is that it does not really belong in HN

If you're targeting first responders, you could approach private ones first (festival, big event, fairs, etc..). They have basically the same needs as the public ones, but their operation theatre is sometimes/often a private one (private property) with a lot less regulatory overhead.

In many countries, health is not a business, but a research topic. As a result, databases, cohorts, studies and other data collections can exist without being monetised, or being monetised within some contractual bounds stricter than what happened with LLM training data. So, to get a head start, you would connections in the medical world, and cardiologists, to get access to this data (that already exists). And you would need those professionals for analysis and feedback of your product too

Sounds like you're trying to dodge the question a bit here, but this is a real yes or no question, that I will rephrase: Is my data sent to any unidentified partner that is not listed explicitly on the contract ? I understand that, as a cloud based solution, it is sent outside my network, but can you guarantee (and write down) that no other third party will have any access to it, even partially ?

If you can not answer with a firm YES here, and have to lawyer wriggle out your answer, then this is a non starter.

Same with cookies settings, on many websites. I decline/refuse every time, while logged in, but they continue to ask every time, probably until I misclick. Some browser extensions help a bit to manage this, but the burden is still here.

Teamviewer is a no brainer, cross platform, to handle my retired dad's computer on the other side of the country and/or customer's screens on the other side of the world.
