With space not much of an issue anymore, FLAC is pretty much the default nowadays. And even though Opus and AAC and others have better encoding than old MP3, but I guess a 128 Kbps MP3 encoded in the original Fraunhofer l3enc (the best back then) and one encoded with LAME will be different - and the LAME version will be "better" because of improvements in psychoacoustics? At least I remember l3enc being MUCH better than anything else at 128 Kbps (Xing lol, cymbal washing anyone?) before LAME came along.

Same experience here. I loved The Great Mouse Detective, at age 8. Not much later I read The Dark Knight in a translated trade paperback, and it really tickled my little mind. There was a trend of having comic adaptations of movies back then, so I also read and loved the License to Kill comic and was disappointed when Terminator 2 omitted some scenes in the movie -- until the Director's Cut came out.
I was certainly not traumatized (apart from the week of nightmares after seeing Alien one night on TV at age 12). Because of this, I had no arguments when I learned my 11 and 13 year old kids' mom and their stepdad had secured tickets for us to go see Deadpool & Wolverine when I was visiting last time.
Kids understand more than one may think, depending on how much "real life" they assimilate through culture (and parental guidance), I believe.

I do recognise his major contributions: Made electric cars commonplace sooner than I thought with the Model S, financed SpaceX's doubtlessly awesome progress, and... well that's pretty much it.
Thing is, the illusion is fading, his previously "inscrutable" politics are on his sleeve, and you can't just pretend he's not a complete liability for any company because of his irrational, and frankly childish, behaviour.

Yeah of course I can't find it now, there was some lame Youtuber memelord that let his buddy shoot at it with a handgun and at least one bullet went through. But I also see that it can resist it, so IDK and retract my statement.
I do know the difference between the calibers though, having shot a few different weapons in different calibers (as a hobby & in the military)

It's strange, here in Norway I usually get phishing attempts of the "check your parcel" variety around the time something is on its way with DHL from another country. I guess they have someone on the inside that supplies the tracking numbers.

The appropriation of the Scandinavian norrøn viking lore by the extreme right/nazi-adjacent/nazi groups is so annoying. I'm from around Tønsberg (look it up) and we have a lot of people with a healthy, normal interest in the old medieval stuff. We also have a lot of people that use it for their nazi feelgood shit. Problem is, you can't tell 'em apart unless you can see their other, less visible tattoos :(

Pizza is a little bit of flour, yeast, water and salt; crushed tomatoes; herbs, cheese, and whatever other toppings. It's a super cheap thing to make, even fresh, in a place where all these ingredients are already cheap basic stuff.

Knowing the pizzaiolos and other southern italians I work with over this summer, this was no surprise... There's a reason there are no pineapples, in any form, on this island. They are, understandably, crazy proud of their pizza and other food. When their fast food has been clean, local, and fresh ingredients, thrown together in a jiffy, for ages, anything else is a desecration :D
