I’m not at the computer to check now, but you gotta consider that the music uses a sample from
Cola Bottle Baby that was recorded in analog and most likely had transport drift when plagued in a different equipment. A lightly variation on the nominal speed can cause a fractional BPM.
When that is sampled and speed/slowed in software - specially at the time the record was made, you couldn’t get exact on the beat with a digital metronome.

A friend and I were talking about a DOS POS system we wrote decades ago. It was crude, handwritten using Turbo Pascal DBF files and somehow still running in a few places since it got pirated.
We no longer have the source. No install disks. No backups. The software survived longer than our memory of it.
It made me realize how often "temporary" work outlives its creators, while the source vanishes.
What’s the most important thing you lost because you assumed you’d back it up later? Code, data, research, art, configs, anything.
Did that loss permanently change how you handle backups?

One thing I’ve learned in my 25+ year career is that if you don't own your narrative and your work, someone else will claim it - especially in corporate America.
I have lost count of the brilliant engineers who were passed over for credit simply because someone less technically capable, but extremely popular, pulled the strings to steal the spotlight.
You don't necessarily need to be in the spotlight, but you do need to leave a paper trail. Claim your work and inventions both internally and externally. You don't need to be a 'LinkedIn thought leader' to do this, just submit talks to conferences and find peers at other companies who understand the difference between those who build and those who only talk about building.

The shift away from proprietary formats is long overdue.
As a composer and arranger working with different studios, I need multiple DAWs installed for compatibility. Every time I open my DAW or Gig Performer after a few days, it rescans all plugins. With around 800 installed, that happens across AU, VST, and VST3.
I hope Apple and Avid are holding meetings after this decision to help simplify the life of library/plugin makers. As an example AAX requires a complete mess to compile and test their plugins, and several AU plugins are just wrappers aroud VST that add another layer.
I really hope the next five years bring real standardization and smoother workflows.

I hope corporate ling like this stops for good. Seriously. Bad management is the norm, not the exception. We're all suffering from poor leadership at every level; I bet you all can count the good managers you've had on one hand.
I'd rather live in a world where we could give blunt and direct feedback like, "You suck as a manager, why are you still insisting on this?" However, we live in a situation where the system will always push back against any dissenting voices, and in the end, back-patting and corporate camaraderie are what keep the wheels turning.

Just because you downvoted my comment doesn't mean it's not valid. Downvotes are a subjective measure of agreement and they do not necessarily reflect the accuracy or usefulness of a comment. Others may find value in my personal experience with Linux and Mac, and it's not up to you to decide whether my comment is relevant or not.
While it's true that every device can have problems, my experience with Linux was that the problems I encountered were frequent and time-consuming to fix. In contrast, my experience with Mac has been much smoother and I have had fewer issues to deal with.

It is not uncommon for elephants to be born without tusks, and this can be due to various factors, including genetics and environmental conditions. However, there have been reports of an increasing number of elephants being born without tusks in areas where poaching is common. Some experts believe that this may be an evolutionary response, as elephants without tusks are less likely to be targeted by poachers. This is an example of natural selection, where individuals with traits that are advantageous for survival are more likely to reproduce and pass on those traits to their offspring. Over time, this can lead to changes in the population, such as an increase in the number of elephants born without tusks.
