I went through a category 5 hurricane that took down everything. Prepared by downloading as much as I could ahead of time but it wasn’t enough. This, or something similar, would have been a blessing.

Same. First thing they had me buy was a map book with all the local neighborhoods. The map on the wall helped get shortcuts from others. This is where I learned the difference between the different kinds of shortcuts. Some saved time, others distance, and some even potholes. It was a fun time.

I agree and am working on it. It’s been a stream of progress after launching my comedy writings under https://yelluw.com
I’ve focused mostly on writing by postponing the actual editorial/cms side of things. I’d rather prove that I can write and write well than spend all my energy getting the perfect cms setup.
The one issue I have today is copyright and all the extreme scraping being done by ai companies. I wonder how others are dealing with that.

I don’t really get the appeal of using A.I. to write books. It’s a useful research and editorial tool that still requires thoughtful operation. But have it do the writing? It’s too shallow.
I use it to check the spelling and grammas of everything I post on my comedy newsletter[0]. As an ESL speaker, I do need some help with those areas. But the edits it typically recommends are just awful. Hyphen and em dash galore. A/B comparison and analogies that mimic the term “load-bearing”. I have to be extra careful to not let any of that slop slip through. At this point, I’m looking to work with a human editor. The AI is clearly showing not being up to par for it. At least in my experience.
[0] https://open.substack.com/pub/yelluwcomedy/p/the-free-and-wi...
