That $20 price is heavily subsidized to addict people like you. Their plan is that once people are addicted to it, they can just increase prices.

Which now won't be possible because we have chinese open models to use instead.

I'm very curious about how long these US companies can keep on burning money like that.

I almost completely stopped drinking because it hurts my surfing performance, and surfing so so much nicer then drinking, so it was a good trade off.

But I’m curious nonetheless, can you give some examples of those risks? I keep seeing people mentioning them, but haven’t seen many well informed reasonings

Be careful, I’ve been using AI to translate my Swift code to Kotlin and sometimes it makes some mistakes that are invisible to you, because the languages are so similar, but it will bite you in the ass eventually, because there are subtle changes between the platforms

I was forced to migrate from pure native development to React Native and Redux is one of the stupidest things I ever witnessed. Or at least the way the previous devs setup that thing, because it’s so easy to make costly mistakes with it.

I lost so many days of my life profiling and debugging to figure out why hundreds of components were re-rendering when a tiny thing changed somewhere completely unrelated

Nowadays it's estimated the Amazon has around 46.9 million people. Much more than 3M, but still much less than your 220M

This was interesting until I read it's inside Livraria Lello. You have to pay to get inside and wait 1 hour in a line alongside tourists. So this looks more like a stunt than anything truly meaningful.

That was a surprisingly good read. Brief enough that I can finish while in-between tickets, but long and deep enough that it can beautifully explain the whole crisis without oversimplifying it, and at the same time carefully presenting the two conflicting narratives.

edit: although I probably wouldn't trust the source when reading about Middle East conflicts...

By the way, where I live you can still buy furniture from crafts people. I bought by bed from a local shop, it was not expensive at all and I was pretty happy about it.

Perhaps check in your country if that isn’t true as well, people automatically assume IKEA killed all local shops, but there are many out there if you search for them.
