That's a very broad statement for a population of over one billion.

Yeah, Fable 5.1 just seems Pareto-dominated. Opus 5.5 is the first model that feels like a step change for me, personally since like 4.6

Recent demographic shifts have given rise to a vocally anti-alcohol contingent in large parts of the Western world. There's substantial motivated reasoning.

Famously where Penrose got the idea from in the first place.

If I might ask, where do you live? In America a woman was arrested for letting her child walk in her own neighborhood. https://people.com/va-mom-convicted-for-letting-5-year-old-w...

New comment by purpleflame1257 in "ChatGPT Images 2.5"

purpleflame1257 — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 19:36:53 +0000

Every SDXL image uses something like 0.5 Watt-hour. That means that 2000 sdxl images uses about 30 cents of electricity. If we multiply that by 30x for video (a fair assumption for models like minimax H3, which take that much longer to make video), that means you get almost 700 5-second videos for a dollar of electricity, which is about a kilo of carbon dioxide. More or less depending on where your electricity comes from.

There's a real hole here at Q3. A critical breakpoint here is sub 16-GB cards, which covers the 5080, 5070 Ti, 5060ti, and several other cards from this generation and the last. It would be instructive to see where the quality knee is.

I "downgraded" to Opus 4.6 which is the last one that didn't have these problems.

Real 2006 Slashdot energy here. Very rare to see in the wild these days.

That's not necessarily true. Patreon, Twitch, and Onlyfans all reproduce the patronage relationship at microscale. Instead of a commissioned sculpture you might get a shout-out on chat, but the cost to you was also much cheaper.

Economic trends meant we were moving towards patronage models anyway, whether singular or distributed. It seems like mass one-shot payment for media is almost dead. The exception might be video games, thanks in part to console lock-in.
