> “Hey, why do you use the unsafe old C-style void* pointer?
Exactly, one should avoid unnecessarily erasing pointer target types. Luckily, C++ gives much better tools for that than C. This should have been a tem—
> Use some safe explicit type like uint8_t, which clearly represents an 8-bit byte!”
Sigh. Out of the frying pan, into the fire.

Gun nut on the side, he had a rather ill-informed (at best) video on AI a while ago (before the current LLM craze), and has once done a pretty reckless attempt at repairing a unique IBM machine – as in, opening the PSU with a dremel tool and then then bridging a circuit with a paperclip.

A forum records free-form conversations between specific people, where every post can be edited at most by its original author (if even that). SE sites are libraries of questions that may be generalized beyond the original author's circumstances, and if someone's post does not fit the rigid Q&A form, it may be moderated away.

Just wait until you hear about std::hive.
The work of one obsessive author, who never gave a good explanation for why the thing needed to be in the standard library instead of an external one. The committee was apathetic about the proposal and kept bringing up various trivial issues, in a clear attempt to stall him, but he refused to take the hint. So eventually they relented. Outside coverage I have seen so far seems to be to the tune of "WTF is this weird thing?" and quickly glosses over it.
I wonder if it's going to end up like the export keyword.
