Maybe because the Planned Parenthood shooter specifically mentioned "no more baby parts"? And Planned Parenthood has been HEAVILY featured in the media this last year, falsely painted by the christian right as a baby-killing organization?

Good the fuck luck. Pharmaceuticals are one of the biggest lobbying groups in DC. Advertising firms would be heavily against this as well.

I'm all for this, but it's never going to happen without severe public outcry, and even then...

People have been migrating to cities for years and years now, the rural areas of America are less populated than ever. I'm sure there's some middle ground where we can put new power plants that are relatively unpopulated.

I agree, but let's not rush to blame "the youth". "The youth" has been writing and emailing and calling Congress to tell them we care about this issue but it's not like they really listen to their constituents when so much campaign money is on the line.
