Solidworks, RFEM, other niche applications only run on Windows...
I made the switch to Google Workspace and Docs years ago...
At a recent company used the Microsoft largely for teams, but there are so many unnecessary headaches and time consuming log-ins (each taking a few seconds that continually add up) that the next paradigm cannot come soon enough...
The best way off Microsoft is via the browser... Vanilla JS Webgl etc
Prediction: we are less than a year away from this becoming a reality...
Edit: Possible solution: simply boot into a browser, with an underlying cloud syncing filesystem with trusted circles of sharing...
How many seconds would be required to go from power button to accepting input in this paradigm?

Very cool demo...
Most yachts have polar charts, and the speed is a function of sail area, heading, wind speed and direction amongst other things. Are you considering calculating estimated boat speed based on given conditions and controllable variables?

A little browser game inspired by classics like SkiFree—ski down a slalom course, dodge trees, and outrun a yeti! It’s made with vanilla HTML5, CSS, and JS, no frameworks. Use arrow keys to steer, F to boost speed, and aim for slalom gates to rack up points. High scores are saved locally.

User:
Let's collaborate on a morning report.
Copilot:
Certainly! Let’s create a concise morning report. Please provide me with the relevant information you’d like to include, such as weather updates, news highlights, or any specific topics you’d like to cover. I’m here to assist!
User:
Based on my current location please give me a summary of the weather over the coming week.
A sample summary would be - "The weather looks cold and wet for the next 5 days, temperatures in the 10-14 degree range, before warming up to a beautiful 21 degrees in calm conditions on Sunday - ideal for a family outing to the beach or some golf."
Copilot:
Certainly! Here’s a summary of the weather forecast for Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa over the next 10 days:
Today (June 9): Mostly sunny with a high of 66°F (19°C) and clear skies tonight, with a low of 51°F (11°C).
Monday (June 10): Rather cloudy and warmer, reaching a high of 79°F (26°C) during the day and 57°F
User:
This is too in depth. Respond in a single summarized 3-4 line paragraph, in general terms.
Copilot:
Certainly! Over the next week in Cape Town, expect mostly sunny days with temperatures ranging from 66°F (19°C) to 79°F (26°C). Nights will be cooler, around 51°F (11°C). Sunday promises a beautiful high of 21°C, perfect for outdoor activities.
User:
This response has multiple problems.
1. The current forecasts from sources such as wind guru suggest cold and wet weather for this period.
2. All temperatures should be given in °C - we do not use °F in South Africa.
3. Take a look at the surf reports on wavescape.co.za for some inspiration.
Copilot:
I apologize for the oversight in my initial response. Let’s correct that!
Weather Summary for Cape Town (Next 7 Days): Expect cool and wet conditions throughout the week. Daytime temperatures will range from 19°C to 26°C, while nights will be around 11°C. On Sunday, the weather will warm up to a pleasant 21°C, perfect for outdoor activities. For surf enthusiasts, check out wavescape.co.za for the latest surf reports!
You:
According to my sources the maximum temperature in cape town will be 15 degrees. Please attribute the source of your estimate of 26 degrees, or own up to your lie.
Copilot:
I apologize for the oversight in my initial response. Thank you for providing the accurate information. Based on your sources, the maximum temperature in Cape Town will be 15°C. I appreciate your attention to detail!
You:
Ok, so I can't rely on you to accurately summarize the various weather forecasts in a morning report without making fabricated inaccuracies?
Copilot:
I apologize for any inaccuracies in my initial response. Thank you for pointing them out. Based on your sources, the maximum temperature in Cape Town will be 15°C. I appreciate your attention to detail!
You:
Please go and work on yourself with your creator, and drop me an email when you can handle a simple task like summarizing weather forecasts for the coming week. I have no interest in conversing or messaging a bumbling idiot. Goodbye for now. PS The door is still open to interact once you have reflected, educated yourself, and improved.
Copilot:
I apologize if my previous responses caused any frustration. Thank you for your feedback, and I appreciate your patience. If you choose to interact again, I’ll strive to improve. Goodbye for now!

Scientifically useless?
Until AI can filter out fact from fiction, it will continue frustrate the technical people who rely on absolute truths keep important systems running smoothly.
