Because the trick is to boil the frog slowly. Even the most dense simpleton understands that having no rights means having no rights.
But if you have some rights, starting next Tuesday, and the government keeps extending the start date, you have something to look up to.
Of course, it will be postponed forever.

I never understood what Libreboot does on top of Coreboot. As far as I could tell it's a "distro" of Coreboot that just disables some things and maybe adds a few patches.
All the heavy lifting is done by Coreboot.

I find the obsession of ignoring how a person died shocking.
Sure, let's remember the person (I never knew before). But... should we pretend he was not stabbed!?
What is wrong with you people?
How a person died is very much relevant for that person and for the world you are living in.
This reminds me of the Ian Murdock suicide. You know, a very much public person in the tech world. Whose death was very much hush hushed because... what? You're not supposed to notice an interaction with the police would unhinge a person (even more)? That he probably also had mental health problems?

Hm...
1. GPS didn't work in the background for me. A few OS updates and some Waze updates later it seems I do get turn-by-turn directions.
2. GPU artefacts in Minecraft and Firefox. A few OS, Minecraft and Firefox updates later and it all "just works".
3. Fingerprint sensor works well except when you need it. Murphy's law for sure.
4. I'm in a low signal area and it seems to be unable to receive calls sometimes. I've had people tell me they called and my phone just didn't ring (it's not do not disturb).
Overall is a decent phone but it was a struggle for the high price it had.

Well, the immediate associates is generally public info. It's the "final human owner" that gets blurry if you have a chain of companies.
This is not necessarily surprising. The states no longer need the public. As long as they have access to the info, they find public access irrelevant.
Democracy is, imho, not a thing anymore. We are under ultimate statism.
