Exo looks cool, but I wonder how long it will take until it supports llama.cpp. Definitely some spare machines I'd like to use this way. I also wonder to what extent other forms of native apple metal (iPhones, iPads) could be used in clusters for additional sources of aggregate cluster memory.

Hadn't heard about the abliteration before, thanks for bringing it up! Here's a HF walkthrough [1] of the concept for anyone else interested in learning more.
[1] https://huggingface.co/blog/mlabonne/abliteration

What makes you think a startup is a low-friction environment rather than a different kind of high-friction environment where the corporate person could be absolutely miserable and unprepared for execution with resource constraints?

I remember the "good ol days" when I would always opt for a FireWire audio interface for music production and live performance over USB for exactly this reason. I'd get way better latency and stability.

I would not recommend this unless you would consider yourself experienced and best in class in marketing music, or you'd like to use this project as a way to do a deep dive into those skills. The competition is fierce and the market is saturated, so you want to be honest with what you're getting yourself into. On the flip side, it's never been easier to connect with audiences, so if you like what you're working on and you get energized by the grind of audience building, I think you can have a lot of fun and maybe even find some traction.

It might be worth seeing somebody; you may be suffering from burnout or depression. 40 is not the age you'll see cognitive decline; rather, in many situations, you will begin to approach peak mastery. That's not to minimize or say that you may be experiencing some kind of true decline; rather, it's that I think it's potentially more probable that it's something else. I am of course not a trained medical professional.

It's essentially a little bit similar to a mortar shell launch I suppose, at that distance? Reminds me of the fun I had trying to do ultra long distance shots playing Gunbound (South Korean MMMORPG that was similar to Worms) online. Very impressive.
