This is entirely regulator's decision.

Hazard Lights: Yes, the vehicle will automatically turn on its hazard lights

Controlled Slowdown: The car gradually slows down to a complete stop within its current lane.

Horn & Unlock: Once fully stopped, the vehicle places itself in Park, unlocks the doors, and may sound the horn continuously to signal for help.

Currently, Autopilot and supervised FSD are classified as Level 2 Driver Assistance Systems. Regulatory frameworks (NHTSA in the US, UNECE internationally) mandate that:

1) No Autonomous Lane Changes During Failure: Level 2 systems are not permitted to execute pull-over maneuvers (changing across active lanes to reach a shoulder) without driver supervision or dedicated Level 3/4 autonomous certification.

2) Risk of Pulling Over Unsupervised: A car pulling off to the right shoulder unguided could potentially cross multiple lanes of traffic or steer into a blind spot/guardrail if the driver is incapacitated.

3) Default Safety State: Regulators require the vehicle to safely bring itself to a stop in the path it is currently tracking (the active lane) with hazards illuminated, rather than attempting an unmonitored multi-lane drift.

All of the subscription AI platforms are trimming down quotas across the board to push users into higher tiers. Whatever they can do. Local inference needs to meet pricing sooner

Sites can be fast with PHP and JavaScript. The slowness you see is mostly coming from all the frameworks too many developers "include" willy nilly with code that can only be described as bloat because 99% of it is completely unused, yet being loaded and computed by the browser on every load. That's what you're experiencing on too many websites.

This sounds a lot like Grok [4.6] CLI. It already pings multiplayer style between multiple agents, and you can even request that it split large tasks into small chunks across agents to reduce context overload and it seems to do that very well.

I agree with Linus. It happened fast. And this is especially true for the paid models available that were launched within the last 3-4 months.

AI is a tool, just like other tools we use. And it's clearly a useful one.

It may not have been that "clearly" even just a year ago, but it's no longer in question today.

If you think about it, they're splitting the power across millions of users. Essentially, these AI companies have YOUR hardware that YOU are paying (them) for in a cabinet at some data center. This means the hardware could easily be run locally for inference for these 'big' models. It's just a problem of dynamics-- RAM is being bought in bulk by these companies through these B200 style cards, instead of sold slowly through the open public markets.

This is likely due to a combination of mass funding for the AI companies, but also they are trying to governmentally restrict which countries get access to these cards so certain countries get a head start. The only way to lock that down is to have them literally locked in their own GPU prisons (data centers). Third reason is it does make it possible to train the models faster by having them in the same data center connected directly. Having them distributed to everyone would slow down training considerably.

The current way to 'own' decent RAM and GPUs right now is through the stock market it seems.

The main thing that sucks with Claude is the extremely low limits before you get fail2banned for 6 hours. I'm out. Refund requested. Grok and Gemini Pro are way better with the throttling, can't comment on ChatGPT, haven't used that for a year.

Recent year or two LibreOffice has improved greatly as far as the UX goes and I haven't had to use Word/Excel in decades. When I have to use it for work I use the online app and office online apps are also garbage, especially compared to Google Docs / Sheets stability and performance.

These laws just complicate things, make it more expensive to run a game company and these government people don't get it. This will just result in making it more expensive to make games and keep them running. On top of that, it incentivises subscription based games.

What about map applications which manipulate the history to store the position of the map as users drag and release to make back and forward work to the users expectation in a single page app? It’s not malicious, but will Google flag it?
