Location: Greater New York (US Citizen)
Remote: Yes
Willing to relocate: No
About: I am a Generative AI Engineer who also happens to be pretty hands-on across the full stack development. Most of my recent work has been building RAG pipelines, AI agents, and natural language search — using LangChain, LangGraph, and vector databases like Pinecone and ChromaDB — with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini APIs under the hood. I care deeply about shipping GenAI features that hold up beyond the demo stage.
Beyond GenAI, I am working on the full stack — React/TypeScript on the frontend, Node.js or ASP.NET Core APIs on the backend, and AWS/Azure for infra. I like owning things end-to-end and building software that's simple and reliable.
Technologies:

 • Generative AI: LLMs, LangChain, LangGraph, Agentic RAG, Prompt Engineering, Vector DB (Pinecone, ChromaDB, FAISS), Embeddings, Streamlit

 • AI/ML Stack: Python, NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Jupyter Notebooks

 • Frontend: React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Redux, React Query, D3.js, Chart.js, MUI, Tailwind CSS

I keep checking on profile if there is any activity. Other than that I haven't used SO for long time. It does not even come up in the google search results. Taking to LLMs like gemini, chatgpt etc does solve the technical problems.

Agree. I used to enjoy the nerd or technical articles on how stuff works, why it is optimized for speed, why it is not secure etc...more on technical stuff and the startup world ecosystem. Now a days I only see breaking news type of articles which I can easily find in any other websites.

Instead of working for a large corporation. Try working for small to mid size companies where you get to wear many hats and interact with many departments. This can be exciting and may open to other opportunities.
Other option is to go self-employed contract roles where you can set hours and bill rates. You can opt to work part-time and full-time based on your work-life balance and simultaneously fulfil your entrepreneurial impulses.

Hello HN
I used to have Windows Defender on my old laptop and it worked fine for years.
I bought a new Lenovo Laptop (Windows) and it came with McAfee antiviurs with 30 day trial. The 30 day period has elapsed and it is asking me to upgrade.
I haven't shopped any antivirus for years and don't have the information on various software available in the market.
Do you guys buy or prefer any Antivirus or happy with default Windows security?
Do you guys even use any antivirus at all?
Would like to know your opinion from HN community.
