tax law is tax law, it's that simple. if the hedge fund did what the whistleblower alleges, then bye-bye tax exempt status.
also since when is a rainy day / reserve fund unique to a particular religion? it's been common sense financial practice for longer than your particular religion has been in existence.

Absolutely not true on the efficacy assertion. I've been run over while out training on my bike, went through a windshield head first. Without a helmet on my brain matter would have been in the lap of the driver.
I've got hundreds of thousands of miles in my legs and I won't get on a bike without a helmet on even going around the block.
On the infrastructure yes, agree. I'd be happy with simple stuff like ubiquitous bikes lanes and 10 foot wide shoulders...

How in the world is looser regulation of opaque (at best) SV bullshit CO's a good idea? The more relevant question to ask is what exactly is the value prop of fintech?
I don't see it as any different than the mortgage brokers of the 2008's: stripping fees off transactions with ZERO value add to the consumer...
If you want to really fix things start with the national market system. At this point between dark pools, HFT and non-public company markets it is an unqualified effing disaster from both a price discovery and accessibility perspective.
#justsayin

Remove FB/Insta/Twitter from the planet, along with the entire mainstream media, all of which have business models based on the aforementioned idiocy as well as non-stop conflict generation.
When you are done with that task go purge every sitting legislative body on the planet which in general are bought and paid for by those same special interests.
Then you'd have a clean slate to build on for intelligent dialog and meaningful efforts related to not just Covid 19, but many other pressing global concerns...</rant>
