You are not alone.

The hn community is diverse. Of course some people will be tired of it but if enough people are engaging with the pelican test I would say that is likely because it still has some relevance.

Must be super frustrating for you to hear that.

Sounds to me like things people say just to have something to say. True, it is good to listen to feedback but feedback without evidence is only going to waste your time.

Thanks for all your hard work and keep going in the direction that makes sense to you!

Interesting.

Do you spot any opportunities for new solutions in the real estate space these days?

This should be the top comment!!!

It is so incredibly bad that for years I have assumed it must be me or my specific laptop. And then the years go by I just accept it.

Anytime Apple is mentioned "comically bad search" should be mentioned. It is the association I have in my mind.

New comment by realty_geek in "Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)"

realty_geek — Mon, 14 Sep 2026 09:02:56 +0000

I'm doing a house price guessing game for the UK:

https://housepriceguess.com/

It's just a fun game but can be useful for people wanting to get a better sense of what the real estate market is like at the moment.

I should really have added a bunch more games by now but I've been sidetrack. Mentioning it here has already given me a bit of motivation to do that now.

Any feedback will be much appreciated.

Why is this getting downvoted. Is it because of a general anti-cloudflare sentiment?

This is the most exciting direction for LLMs for me. I am already dreaming of the day when you boot to an LLM that proceeds to implement an OS on the fly. Wow - just the thought has me salivating.

Why would you not want to mark paper ballots with pens / ink which will be harder to change?

New comment by realty_geek in "Outbid – A Million Dollar Homepage for 2026?"

realty_geek — Tue, 25 Aug 2026 17:52:04 +0000

I jumped on the hype and paid $8 for a link on outbid.lol

Was I stupid? Probably...

But at this stage I am experimenting with reddit ads which charge more than $1 for a click so if I get more than 8 clicks I won't be doing too badly.

It's hard to know the value of such small ad spends but everyone has to start somewhere.

Advice from anyone who has figured out an amazing advertising solution will be much appreciated.

Would love a similar post breaking down the rightmove (UK equivalent of zillow) tax. Fortunately there is currently a court case against them that might help. I am also starting a #RightmoveHygiene campaign to encourage people to spend less time on there.

realty_geek — Sat, 08 Aug 2026 19:56:03 +0000

A bit tangential but I imagine some of the smart folks here might have interesting opinions on this. There are a few sites popping up that let you do something interesting with content at a given url by changing the domain name slightly.

The best example is changing the g in github.com to u.

That results in uithub.com making the data there LLM friendly. Is that considered infringement?

I wonder if some of the ideas in cloudflare OS will find their way into EmDash.

Currently I am quite bullish on EmDash.
