If memory serves, it has been since version 4 or 5 that they started including real workloads. I agree that it shouldn’t be considered synthetic any more.

My bet for why they're comparing it to the Intel models: They want to advertise more heavily to the Intel folks so they can more quickly reduce / remove support for multiple architectures. They are trying to convince the Intel folks that Apple Silicon will be much more performant. Also, they probably want people to spend money on their products sooner than they otherwise would have.

That being said, They are still comparing against the M1 chips here. They aren't only comparing against Intel.

Not sure exactly when you had the UDM, but the earlier firmware for both the UDM and UDMP was awful and filled with bugs. It has since gotten a lot better. I haven't had any issues with my UDMP since the newer firmware and my home internet experience is much smoother than with my consumer routers (which would randomly drop connections or refuse new connections until a reboot... full NAT table maybe?)

What does the optional proprietary firmware on the type-c Controller get you? Just wondering.. I have the convergence mobian edition from ~January that seems to work well out of the box with the included usb-c hub. Does the convergence edition possibly come with that proprietary firmware?

Well, I'm glad to see this posted here... I was concerned that somehow my phone got infected with some kind of malware after a reboot didn't fix it. It's concerning to me that an update was pushed out that apparently wasn't tested very well.

The beauty of noise-cancelling headphones is that you don't need to have the volume as loud to block out the sound. Make sure you're not listening too loudly! Ear damage from sound is no joke.

This ended up happening to me recently (about a month ago), too. I ended up having to enroll via the app on iOS versus through the website on desktop. I was in contact w/ the support folks and they were fairly helpful. Could be worth reaching out.

6th gear is usually an overdrive gear (meant for cruising on a highway to preserve fuel). It's very possible that you'll get a higher top speed in 5th.

You can generally do this pretty closely digitally by taking the left and right channels of a stereo track and inverting the phase on one of them. Since the vocals are usually panned center (as you said), the inverted phase ends up destructively cancelling them. Depending on how the instrumentation was mixed, usually the instruments are left pretty in-tact.

The simple answer is that I don't like Spotify as much as I like GPM and Tidal. Tidal is my go-to for high-quality music when I'm listening at home on my nice speakers. I've found that Tidal has the best radio experience, at least for the type of music I listen to (Spotify and GPM have a bad habit of playing the same exact songs / artists when I do a radio for a particular artist/album/song, Tidal varies it more).

Google play music is simply extremely convenient considering how nicely it works with Google Assistant. Additionally, I have tens of thousands of my own music collection uploaded to GPM that I'm free to download whenever I want without restriction. Spotify lets you play music offline, but it's basically cached and still tied to your premium Spotify subscription.

Only one of those is sort of an option for me. USB tokens = disallowed. Accessing personal email at work = disallowed. Using a single recovery code is a possibility, but I would have to rotate through them constantly (see other comments in this thread).

That's not a great scenario for me, either. I'm currently paying $7.99/mo for GPM because I've been a subscriber since the beta. If I switch to another google account just for GPM, I will end up paying $2/mo more.

There's a massive amount of websites that are blocked, so it's not really what I would call 'unfettered.' The reason that phones aren't allowed is related to the fact that they have cameras / microphones. They don't want someone's infected phone spilling company secrets.

I wonder if there's a way to programmatically re-generate the one-time-use codes. It might be a fun project to set something up that emails a one-time-use code to my work email and then regenerates one.
