Isn’t the inverse of this “hack” really difficult to bypass still? They have the model some code they knew had certain security flaws and it fixed them with the right prompt. It seems this type of jailbreak requires that you already know a desired end state, rather than relying on the model to do the heavy creative lift work. Perhaps I’m just not being imaginative enough on the prompt side here though.

Depending on quantization I figure they need at least a p4 and likely a p5 EC2 (or similar instance in another provider) for a model with that many parameters. Maybe they are hosting on bare metal but I imagine not. Those instance types (assuming not using spot) are quite expensive to run.

A weight lifting app. I’ve paid for, and used, others over the years, but I always wanted to customize them in some way just for me. So, I just decided to create one the other day (used antigravity CLI) and I’m hosting it on Vercel as a PWA. I’m enjoying it so far and see a lot of potential with making hyper-personal software moving forward.

I had been living in an area that’s particularly gloomy in the later fall and winter months. My wife had not been feeling great. At her regular checkup, my wife was prescribed ergocalciferol for a rather pronounced vitamin D deficiency. She said she felt like a new person after taking it.

I do not look forward to that kind of future. As someone who has worked in food preparation, meals are usually quite unhealthy because they are designed to taste great. I can’t imagine eating delivered meals daily is good for your long term health. You would be surprised that seemingly healthy food, when made at a restaurant, is often anything but.

The problem seems to me that companies and orgs want to send emails when it is convenient for them to do so (paystub ready, benefits enrollment open click here, etc.) but distribute the cognitive load to its employees/customers to figure out which emails are trustworthy and which emails are not. You eventually get trained to click on links in emails as a form of legitimate interaction.
https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/book.html

In my experience, front-end projects always seem to get more attention and visibility from product teams, and the business in general. This seems to happen even when it’s a nascent product that doesn’t make any money yet, and older, more boring systems responsible for large percentages of company revenue often get ignored. I’m not sure if this is related to pay in any way, but it definitely seems like the visibility of front-end apps, and being able to showcase them to wider audiences, doesn’t hurt.

I didn't really know a better way to phrase this, but I am curious if anyone has a system for, or advice on, controlling wanderlust when it comes to technology or computer science knowledge. For me, I feel like this is more pronounced when I read hacker news and discover new, interesting articles & free text books about topics I find interesting. I place them in my "queue" with a "plan" to investigate and read later, but I usually make little headway towards this goal. It's probably a personal issue, as I tend to do this with books I want to read, shows I want to watch, places I want to visit, etc., but I just thought I would ask and see if anyone has any ways that have worked for them when dealing with this issue.
