I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already solved this. I'm not an Emacs user myself but try searching for something like "seamless <tiling_system> <tiling_app> navigation site:github.com". I've seen several scripts/plugins to setup seamless navigation between i3/tmux, tmux/Vim, i3/tmux/NeoVim, i3/Zellij etc.
Recently I hacked together a Bash script for seamless navigation between i3 windows/tabs and Kitty windows/tabs using i3-msg, xdotool, jq, kitty's remote control sockets. Now if I only figured out how to add Helix windows into the mix...
Sometimes thinking outside the box helps. I've been able to unify a lot of keybindings by using a context aware remapping tool such as Keymapper (https://github.com/houmain/keymapper.

In my current favorite alternative HN frontend https://hcker.news, you can filter (include and/or exclude) posts by words found in the titles. There's _a lot_ of other customization options as well.

Late to comment but this is awesome! I've been a long time user if hckrnews.com. What I'd like to see is it's option to open the links in HackerWeb. It makes reading the discussions much easier on mobile/tablet in my opinion. Another feature request would be font size adjustment. Two columns look great on a tablet but the font size is slightly too small. Keep up the great work!

Finland Ministry for Foreign Affairs has this section on their "Traveling to United States" page (Google translated):
Current affairs
When traveling to the United States, it is important to note that a valid ESTA or visa does not necessarily entitle you to enter the United States. Overstaying your stay or providing incorrect information about the purpose of your stay may result in arrest or deportation.
The United States has also issued an executive order (25 STATE 11402) on February 24, 2025, according to which applicants for a US ESTA or visa must in future indicate their gender as either “male” or “female”. According to the order, applicants must indicate their gender as determined at birth in their application.
If the applicant’s current gender as recorded in their passport differs from their gender as determined at birth, the US authorities may refuse entry. It is recommended to check the entry requirements in advance with the US authorities.
There is no gender marking X in the Finnish passport. If, for example, a dual citizen has a passport with an X marking, the entry requirements can be checked in advance with the US authorities.
Political demonstrations may occur in major cities, which may turn violent. Avoid large gatherings or demonstrations.
Edit: source https://um.fi/matkustustiedote/-/c/US

AFAIK https://github.com/houmain/keymapper should support this on MacOS even though it also makes use of the Karabiner virtual device lib (referring to a sibling comment). I suggest giving both a try!

For Android there's at least https://github.com/keymapperorg/KeyMapper but regardless if it's popularity it didn't seem to work consistently on my device. I'd still suggest giving it a try!

I'd also recommend checking out https://github.com/houmain/keymapper if you're interested in context aware remaps (based on OS, application, device). It's cross-platform as well.
Keymapper was posted here ~10 days ago https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42871040, but the link received relatively little attention, so I assume it might have been missed by many.
Disclaimer: I'm active on the issue threads and a big fan. :)

While that's true, QMK isn't context aware. You can't have application or OS specific mappings for instance.
Edit: typo fix

Yes it does but a lot more. I've personally switched to using only Keymapper even though my keyboard runs on QMK. There's a lot of features but the killer one for me is the context awareness. You can have different mappings based on the application, device or OS.

Based on a quick skim of Kanata's documentation, it does not appear to be context aware, e.g. have different mappings based on the application or device. This is of course a matter of preference, but I find Keymapper's configuration format more straightforward. It doesn't try to mimic QMK & friends. Rather than layers it has contexts. The concepts are similar but unlike layers, you can multiple context active at a time. Keymapper is really flexible. Pretty much your imagination and willingness to tweak stuff is the limit.

But can it adapt the mappings based on the app you're using? I've switched over to using Keymapper from QMK due to this and convenience.

I'm using Helix (https://helix-editor.com/) on Termux on my 12.2" Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+. It's absolutely flying and less hassle to get LSP's to your favorite language setup. It could also be easier to learn than Vim if you're just getting into Vim. It's definitely not difficult for a Vim user* either. Helix is available on Termux repo's:

 pkg install helix helix-grammars

*) Last year WebStorm started getting painfully slow with some TypeScript codebases I worked with. It got the point I thought to give NeoVim a try. I knew my 10y old Vim config just wouldn't cut it to replace WebStorm for me, so I spent some 3 months on and off fiddling to get LSP support properly working. I then ran across Helix around last December, and ended up as a happy Helix user instead.
Edit: Fixed formatting (my fourth comment on HN...)

While I believe Memory Saver was a great improvement, it only works if the tab is hidden or the window minimized. I recently learned the required state is not triggered if the tab is open but on another virtual desktop. At least this is the case with many of not all Linux window managers. Some of the many discussion threads on the topic:
https://github.com/i3/i3/issues/4353

I believe Node-RED (https://nodered.org/) is the way to go. It's just an NPM package to install and you can run it how ever you wish (even on Windows). It has a friendly and helpful community with even the main developers tirelessly answering even beginner level questions. In fact the community forum its THE friendliest forum I've ever been a member of by a large margin. Node-RED's development is supported by the JS Foundation and it's completely free and open source. It's widely used in the industrial automation industry and even integrated by some PLC manufacturers such as Siemens.
