The level of border controls hasn't changed, only the technology used to implement it.

The new EU regulation on Digital Product Passports may have similar effects on small businesses.
I was expecting that they would build the "passport" on top of existing design standards but that doesn't seem to be the case, the recent webinar on it doesn't go into much detail though.

People don't want complete integration.
If I go into the Carrefour in Sallanches (FR) then I will buy a completely different set of products to those that I would buy in the Carrefour in Aosta (IT), the two are 80km apart, I have shopped in both multiple times.
I don't think the supermarket example really maps across to the subject of the linked article.

The article doesn't mention anything about what FPGA image is loaded into the thing.
My guess would be that you can choose how to connect the CPU cores to the cache controller, you might want to run the CPUs independently.

From reading the linked page, they both compile to bytecode not native instructions.
There are open source Common Lisp systems for the OG Macintosh that compile to native instructions that could probably be ported to AmigaOS.
Cambridge Lisp contained a native code compiler and was available on AmigaOS.
