It's very much number 2 in my experience with it. Predominantly whenever a really advanced word or phrase is used it can be substituted for a much simpler one without losing useful context. And it seems to really prefer to use them a lot.

Not OP but got quite a bit of experience with this playing competitive FPS for a decade. You're right that refresh rate sets the physical truth of it, e.g. 180 FPS on a 160 Hz monitor won't give you much advantage over 160 FPS if at all. However reaching full multiples of your refresh rate in FPS – 320 in this instance, 480, and so on – will, and not only in theory but you'll feel it subjectively too. I get ~500-600 FPS in counter-strike and I have my FPS capped to 480 to get the most of my current hardware (160 Hz). Getting a 240 Hz monitor would make it smoother. Upgrading the PC to get more multiples would also.

My somewhat educated guess would be that, firstly, cell tower triangulation includes altitude by necessity of measuring directly the reach of electromagnetic waves, whereas Telegram advertises the subset of users' GPS data that they choose to advertise, which is likely just lat-long. Secondly, law enforcement also likely has the cooperation of the administration of said high-rise building.

The difference is though, with the internet evolving, the platforms were figuring out their revenue models, and we can see now which model turned out superior.

While I absolutely agree that niche spaces that fit your interests tend to have much higher content quality, this argument doesn't quite apply to social networks that attach to your IRL persona. No point in switching until most your IRL connections are there.

In this case, if all your friends hang out at McDonalds, you're not gonna want to sit at your local bistro alone.

You may be right in that regard, but I would argue that Tesla is bringing a new variable into the equation which is autopilot software. I'm no expert at mechanical engineering but knowing how every major car manufacturer has mastered their transmission and emission systems, and how none of them have a reasonably full-featured autopilot solution, it does look like that variable is (far?) more complex.
