We built this because most AI tools still stop at instructions. We wanted one that can actually do the work on your machine.
Desktop Commander is a desktop app that can run terminal commands, edit local files, and execute multi-step workflows from a single prompt. You can switch models per task, including Opus 4.6, GPT 5.3, other hosted models, or local models.
You can also use it with a ChatGPT subscription for tokens, define reusable skills, and automate repeatable workflows end to end. We’d love feedback on where local execution is most useful, where it’s overkill, and what we should harden first for daily use.
