Many regulatory regimes ebb and flow as societies rediscover from first principles why something was banned (or not banned) by the people before them.

it also has stealth. This is a complete disaster. The only purpose of this stealth ship is to steal leaders and or go inside cave lairs and blow them up.

I wonder is Iran would have gone different if we had captured the Ayatollah instead of killing him. A stealth drop ship like this would have allowed that to happen. The reason why regimes are more likely to negotiate when you capture their leaders is because you might release them. (not a good day for the usurper.)

They patch it in the prompt and they eventually address it in the re-enforcement training. It seems the eventual goal is to patch all of these tiny "glitches" so as to hide the lack of cognition.

Thanks, Excellent catch! Everyone is saying this is a "brain teaser." However, this reminded me of the LLM that thought it was the golden gate bridge. I hadn't been able to say it (or think it) succinctly. From Claude, "when we turn up the strength of the “Golden Gate Bridge” feature, Claude’s responses begin to focus on the Golden Gate Bridge. Its replies to most queries start to mention the Golden Gate Bridge, even if it’s not directly relevant." Here's the link for those interested. https://www.anthropic.com/news/golden-gate-claude

The magic of LLMs is that one llm can learn everything and then we can clone it. However, if we don't know ahead of time which one will be the best one, then we should probably keep a lot of version with real (mathematically calculated) diversity. Ironically, the DEI peeps were right all along.

Producing fewer "Compiler errors" and more "broken code errors" is a fundamental failure. The cost of detecting compiler errors is lower than detecting broken code. If the cost of detecting and fixing broken code increases at the same rate as LLMs "improve" then their net benefit will remain fixed. I asked my five year old the above "brain teaser" and he got it right. I did a follow up of what should he wash at a car wash if he walked there, he said, "my hands." Chat answered with more giberish.

So you agree that 50mm Han Chinese dead makes the CCP brutal, correct? Every brutal regime thinks they are justified. Ask the US if they think they are justified. Woke is dead. China is much smaller than the west. The G7 is maybe 1/4 of the west. The west includes EU, US, first island chain (japan, s. korea, Philippines, etc), all of the western hemisphere.) China has no allies, it probably doesn't need them. However, China doesn't control its vital sea-lanes. It has less water per person than Saudi Arabia. China has more old people than the west and Confucianism prohibit to "great leap forward" them. China is not escaping the middle income trap.

If I was a foreign government I would promote division. For the left promote anti-center truth. For the right, anti-center truth. For the center, anti-wing truth. Recommendation systems do this automatically, they are inherently anti-social. This power needs to be controlled domestically were we can force changes to algorithms if needed.

What China did to the Han Chinese makes them worse than ANY other modern country. The great leap forward and the cultural revolution have not comparison. Add in the chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959 and 1979 invasion of Vietnam and they are butchers and imperialists.

This has been proven wrong again and again. My grandparents were subsistence farmers. They had much less material wealth than any working class American and the vast majority of unhoused Americans. Yet, I can assure you that back then they were much more satisfied with life than the vast majority of working class and unhoused americans today. Second point, no amount of material wealth can compensate for severe mental illness. When people have severe mental illness, medical interventions must be performed against their diminished "free will." For those of you of American descent ask your parents or grand parents how their grand parents lived. I am certain you will be shocked at their extreme poverty and general hopefulness. Conclusion: once basic needs are met, the perception of "material" is more important than the material.
