Well, according to Artificial Analysis (which I'll admit I've been using as a bit of a mental crutch to avoid comparing models myself, so YMMV), it's smarter and slightly cheaper than Gemini 3.8 Flash, which has been my benchline for "cheap and smart enough", I'll give it a try on OpenCode for the week but I'm not sure I'll be compelled enough to switch from Muse Spark 1.3.

It's got the kind of UI that I would love pre-2024 or so but these days it just screams "AI generic" unfortunately. Documentation is fairy concise and reasonably LLM-jargon free though.

I have to give Google credit, they're calling (most of) their workspace AI features Gemini or Gemini in X and yet when compared to Microsoft calling everything Copilot I don't actually hate it somehow.

Might be the most tasteful ad I've seen in a hot minute, not bad at all.

Honestly for me the intelligence gap between DS 4.1 Flash and Muse Spark 1.3 makes Muse more worth it for me, especially on a $10 OpenCode Go sub, with the caveat that everything I use it on is open source which makes the fact that I'm sharing it with Meta a little moot because it's already published permissively on GitHub anyways.

I'd classify it as "source-available" given the noncommercial clause in the license.
https://github.com/futo-org/android-keyboard/blob/master/LIC...
