I used many Google products, but in recent years Google has been making choices that go against my ideals. In this blog, I describe the switch I made to other services.

I'm trying to degoogle and would like to get rid of my Google account altogether, but that's harder than I thought, especially when services use it exclusively to create an account. ;)
I always prefer the option of creating an account with an email address.

The NL Design System (https://www.nldesignsystem.nl/) is a project funded by the Dutch government which works with Design Tokens. This way government agencies and municipalities can share components but still retain their own look and feel.

Most people get their Bossche Bol at Jan de Groot, which is like a 15 minute walk or 5 minutes by bike from the intersection. Beware that there always is a big queue at Jan de Groot because it's very popular. You can also go to a Jumbo supermarket in 's-Hertogenbosch or Rosmalen as they usually sell the exact same Bossche Bol from this bakery.

HackerN ews user Metadat started a thread in which other Hacker News users recommend movies that changed their perception of reality or live:
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40035002
I've compiled the answers into a list of movies in the order as they appear in the top level comments. All movies are linked to their TMDB page:
https://roose.digital/en/blog/learning/hacker-news-users-rec...
I've also created a Letterboxd list:
https://letterboxd.com/rroose/list/hackernews-users-reccomme...
Let me know if you would like any movie/info to be added.

I use cleantalk on my Drupal website (but it's also available on other systems, such as WordPress) and only get a few spam comments a month. Its also cheap: 12 dollars a year and you can earn extra credits reporting spam comments that slip through.

Same here. I try to avoid Amazon as much as possible. In the Netherlands we do have 'Bol' but it basically boils down to the same thing: giving your money to one big player.
Another option is getting it at the Dutch Online Library but they have a limited selection.
In some cases you can buy the book directly from the author (like Derek Sivers) but that's more an exception than the rule.
I really wished there were more small e-book stores. Maybe focused on specific genres but so far I have been unsuccesful finding any.

Yeah, it's weird. All the modules (plugins) are free and open source as well so it looks like a no brainer. It probably has something to do with the steep learning curve which can be intimidating.
