Whenever I read "Here's" in a title, I immediately assume that AI wrote the content.

New comment by runamuck in "AI promised less work. I've never worked more"

runamuck — Tue, 27 Oct 2026 14:31:30 +0000

Yes! This removes a lot of initial resistance, it removes the fear of something not working, so it's easy to "wash the first dish."

I just saw a Backerkit campaign for an "AI male device." I will let you use your imagination for its purpose. It kind of gave me a bad feeling, like "wtf is in store for humanity?" Although certain men would find it "Utopian."

New comment by runamuck in "Why do we have so many meetings?"

runamuck — Tue, 20 Oct 2026 16:40:52 +0000

I love this. Will this guarantee that proprietary/ sensitive/ CUI data won't leak to model training or other parties?

New comment by runamuck in "Now that information is free, what's a college campus for?"

runamuck — Tue, 13 Oct 2026 16:02:21 +0000

I learned a lot in college, but living with people my age really helped me socially. I went from a shy nerd who could not make eye contact to the "life of the party" (still a nerd though).

I would host a Gemini protocol server.

If you live in the DMV, you can get a free DC library card. You then get free access to Kanopy - a good streaming service with no ads. That could scratch the streaming itch without having to pay for these expensive services.

I live next to a college. The Sororities will hold car washes. Of course, they ask us to get out of the car first, so that Cheerleading movie w/ Kristen Dundst lied. :-)

I think I may have an autistic affinity for washing machines, but I would LOVE to own a laundromat. I feel like this would fit into the self storage/ car wash category.
