It is fairly standard source for OSM data afaik. Organic Maps uses it as well at least for some cases.

That is such a strange comment considering that there is nothing that requires you to use specifically phone as your 2fa provider. For example I'm very happy with my self hosted Bitwarden (Vaultwarden).

Ok my bad gmail was not a good example. Lets go with outlook account then. Just tried and it definitely doesn't need phone number. And I wouldn't consider outlook disposable platform.

I don't really get this. Where do you draw the line between disposable and non-disposable email? What prevents anyone from creating @gmail.com addresses?

"including me-a-few-years-ago". This also applies to me, sometimes you have to learn the hard way. I would say that in this scenario addressing the root cause is better than treating the symptoms.
