New comment by samfromnz in "MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display and Touch"

> Now we got the foldable iPhone and a touchscreen MacBook.

And the HomeView, which also feels like it lacks a clear “killer” use case.

Maybe I’m just not the intended audience for any of these products, but I’m also starting to wonder if Apple are throwing things at a wall and hoping something will stick.

My iPhone has so little free space (thanks to the ever increasing “system data”) that it can’t update to iOS 26. Point updates for iOS 18 are usually much smaller and can still be installed.

I can’t believe I’m suggesting this, but… you could install a bunch of apps to get your phone storage to <10GB free, which should block it being able to update to iOS 26.

There's a decent comparison at https://www.austinmesh.org/learn/meshcore-vs-meshtastic/

The good news is that almost all Meshtastic hardware can be flashed with the MeshCore firmware (and vice versa). This makes it straightforward to dive into both relatively easily.

It appears to be U.S-only too: https://help.libbyapp.com/en-us/categories/kindle-books.htm?...

Hopefully this changes in future, as I know many people find reading on a Kindle far more pleasant than a phone/tablet.

It’s next to Lake Wakatipu, which is “310 metres (1,020 ft) above sea level at the lake shore”.

Not sure what the flood risk is, but it is surrounded by mountains.

After not being able to find the setting on my 1st gen SE, I wondered this too.

Apparently it’s: iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. (and I assume the iPhone 12 models too)
