The banks will be fine. Australia implemented a similar system a while back (NPP/Osko) which is a standard adopted by 100+ banks. It was designed as a replacement for standard bank transfers which usually took a couple of days.
Now, even transfers in the tens of thousands move instantly. This was also a response to apps like Venmo potentially entering the market - now you can just pay to a phone number or email, as long as it’s been explicitly linked to a bank account. This is by far the preferred way to send money here and third party apps are not common.
They’ve also now introduced PayTo which manages debits and payments online with no fee. You simply approve the transaction in your bank’s app.
Australia also has widespread Visa and Mastercard use, but Eftpos has always existed - which is a fee free alternative around since the 1980s. It supports contactless, but that isn’t widespread due to weak international support and can only be used with debit cards.
The downside is that new features need to be implemented by each bank app, but it’s been interesting to see some of the smaller credit unions collaborating for example.

At first glance, they look very similar. However, in use there's a big difference between the two.
San Francisco is squarer which makes its x-height seem higher. The minor variations in lettering make a massive difference when used in application.
100% not a knockoff of Roboto. They're really, really different.

Agreed. I'd also be very surprised if Snapsave was routing user traffic through their servers. Apps like 6snap connect directly to Snapchat and everything works fine... so storing images on their own servers shouldn't be necessary.

Yeah, would have loved to have something for all platforms... Haven't used Linux in a long time so I'll admit I'm unfamiliar with it all. Did try to do some research but couldn't find a solution that would cover all distros.
Next year, with more time, I'll try and add something there!

Check the site. No sponsors/offers this year and we've taken steps to avoid what happened last time - our brand/logo is released under a loose Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs, and the content on the site is pretty much all Creative Commons.
We've got the Attribution/NonCommercial stuff in the logo license to protect against sites implying that we approve of what they're selling. We just want businesses using the logo FOR PROFIT to state that we don't endorse or promote their product. Everything else is free reign!
We definitely never intended to trademark/restrict the use of the term. We just got a bit over-enthusiastic with the legal side of things - now we're trying to put trust in the community instead (which, admittedly, should have happened in the first place).
If none of this makes sense, I'd be happy to explain it further
