But they are capitalizing on the massive levels of AI and tech fatigue being felt by the average citizen today.

It's frightening how little attention these important details are getting.

Government and Private corp sectors are building impenetrable, moated black boxes for themselves (and their ai), while simultaneously building American citizens a glass house.

I'm failing to see your point. A $9 /hr job that risks serious bodily harm vs a $12/hr job where the level of risk is say 5-10x greater? Where's this safe job you speak of?

When you consider the commute to work as part of the work day itself, most people are nowhere near compensated for (A) the time and money spent to and from workplace, (B) their inherent risk exposure to non-work related damage / injury etc., it just becomes clear, in my opinion.

The long driveway folks have mitigated these risks to the point companies will pay cover the time cost, not to mention travel costs and meals, overnight stays, and add to that the willingness to pay for professional limousine service to take them to and from the airports.

I say all this as observations, not even trying to bring bias into this. Would I like to see some balancing of the scales? sure, but it probably needs to start with constructive discussion around the topic. I don't see it talked about nearly enough.
