I think what is more likely to happen is that how 'transformers' work may change. Or a new way of working might be introduced.
Transformer models are already reaching peak of their capabilities vs the cost to run them. All I see currently is basically the 'burn' phase, which is important to get to the 'sustain' phase.
With new stuff coming literally every week, I believe it is not a long time till either transformers get replaced, or some new version of them is introduced which is far more efficient.

Writing (and especially posting it) needs to be promoted more. I run a small community and I tell them time and time again, writing is not to attract fame, it is to get better at what you do - and having a log of it.
I think as you grow, in career, or in general, folks who get writing always do better than who don't give all things equal.
Keep posting!

I think it really depends on culture to culture.
Where I am from (and a lot of parts in MENA) - referral (or sometimes called 'wasta') is a really good way to land a role.
And companies also even prefer hiring someone who is through a known source since job boards/hiring tools are still not that 'as common' as the west.
HR and Recruiters are still owning all new hiring, and hence, knowing one or two, can be the way you get your next gig.
