Maybe it's time for the FDA to just do quality checks but otherwise screw off. I'm tired of having to order 100% safe drugs from Indian pharmacies. No question they are colluding with Big Pharma. Is there any reason the "Farmacia" model of Latin American countries, where you go in and pay per-pill for whatever you want wouldn't work here?

I tried setting up one of the open source servers and it was an awful experience. I dug around and it seems like most providers are using proprietary implementations or proprietary forks of servers that are no longer maintained. I was interested at the time in understanding how the big guys like Giganews and so on set up nntp, peering, storage, etc. Didn't get very far.

No but it means a fake 1P login page can be served and that will result in some non-zero number of people who didn't have a choice on a local sync having their credentials compromised. I am a huge 1P and I think their whitepapers show off their top-tier talent in the crypto space but killing local sync was a very crummy decision.

I see a recurring pattern of chief people officers and their minions totally destroying company brands and internal morale. This isn't traditional HR nonsense but pure Peter Principle. It really must be too much run plans and messaging through a comms or marketing team first. As a manager, this stuff pisses me off to no end because it seeds worry in the minds of team members that are in no way at risk.

Which is precisely why I don't understand the purpose to even have postmortems for 95% of outages. If everyone is aware of what went wrong and the issue is unlikely to ever happen again, what is the point?
Well, at companies of the size I work with it is to point fingers, make PMs feel more important, and give people talking points.

My experience so far with publishing to the extension store has been that they examine both the code shipped as well as the scopes used. I've had apps rejected due to overly broad scopes and it was obvious based on the responses that the reviewer was pretty competent at JS.

Docker should have built a "better" K8s distro. Right now what they have is junk. Even Rancher isn't filling the niche. I don't think K8s is such a huge hill for new folks. Anyone who spends 5 minutes looking at basic deployment YAML can figure out what to do next. Getting a cluster up and running is the hardest part these days. Minikube, K8s in Docker, and even K3s all suck. There is still ample opportunity for them to own this market.
