I recently played on an electronic drum set and it was absolutely fine with headphones. But when we hooked it up to the speakers across the room there was a very noticable delay (~5ms as we calculated) when hitting the pads with the stick.

Since I only used acoustic drums until then I never gave much thought to the idea of having your drums sound delayed. It was quite eye opening.

Having properly separated and single-purpose commits is awesome when running `git bisect` [1] — especially with automatic tests. As well when you revert said commits after the offender is found.

I made a custom password manager a while back [1] where I used the MutationObserver API [2] to detect when a field is unhidden or newly added. I mainly did it to deal with iClouds login flow. The performance of that could probably be improved by figuring out the container of the login and only attaching the observer to that. But the whole thing was never really finished and I eventually forgot about it.

I rembember the same thing on some other website I visited a few months ago, it's absolutely horrible. Imagine the face of the engineer that was told to implement this.

It's nice to have this when you need to debug issues which only occur on certain versions. A good example would be the recent change of the c++ addon api, which caused my code to crash on some installations while it worked fine on others.

At least in chrome you can enable "Show user agent shadow DOM" in the Settings. I don't know about other browsers, sorry.
