I can't explain this rationally, but my brain just rejects any other search engine. For example, in the case of Kagi, black links instead of blue feel off-putting. I guess years of using Google has hardwired into my brain how a search engine should look.

Unfortunately, Metformin gives me a brain fog that isn’t acceptable while having an engineering role. Maybe it has an interaction with Vortioxetine, I don’t know.

Is this reshaping the experience of childhood?"

People nowadays focus on career till 30 and after 30 (when you loose that naive optimistic outlook on life) realize that having kids is too much of a risky obligation - you don't have any guarantee that you will remain healthy enough to sustain family till they grow up and that your kids will be born healthy. Also, life has gotten quite expensive.

EU is supposed to get a unified digital identity wallet. There’s already a qualified digital signature. My country’s ID has a chip with public key cryptography. Just let me permanently tie my Google account to my national identity and then the problem will solved (at least for EU residents). I’ll be able to just use one just YubiKey without stress of losing it and I’ll be able to get my account back if someone steals it.

Physical dependence and addiction is a very different thing. If you’re physically dependent then you’ll just plan accordingly (taper if necessary) and ride it out, but if you’re addicted then you won’t be capable of doing that and 90% (or more) of the attempts will fail because of the behavioral overrides. This can turn something that could be tapered in couple months into multi-year struggle. I’ve learned this the hard way.
