Adding to this, i think llms are just part of their game, they know well enough they aren’t accurate, but it plays into comments like this, where we’ll think an llm would make a smarter decision, but it’s just a smokescreen, they’re already looking at gaming the bots, musk trying to get grok to abide by his petty worldview is the most obvious ploy. But they’re already obfuscating sources of information as a matter of course, soon, we won’t know anything anymore, we’ll have to trust their machines.

Ah jeez, that makes me feel old. It’s particularly impactful as my dad worked in the computer industry at the time of the transition and the firm he worked for were a little late to the game. They limped on for years but ultimately failed.

Well that’s just not true, anti vax has always been a theme of the far right, infowars and i’m sure others have a long history of it.

The left wing libs types are far more recent, and i would lump them more in with the wellness brigade.

I’ve seen bizarre lift behaviour, the one that gets me are the people who get in a lift, then don’t select the floor, they just seem to think the lift would take them to the correct one (our company had exclusive use of one floor, so they weren’t going there)

I follow a local team and don’t really follow the larger picture, but injuries are sponsored, i always thought that would produce a perverse incentive.

EDIT: not sure why i’m getting downvoted, they post up the injured player on the screens with a private medical company prominently displayed.

I also swear by Levi’s, they also have good range of sizes with a very rare combo that fits me perfectly, and they are well made. I tend to just instinctively buy a pair whenever i see they are on sale, i now have too many and haven’t bought any in a good couple of years.

Converse shoes also have styles that haven’t changed in decades, while convenient, they’ll usually only last me a year.

I always have trouble buying shoes, most shops don’t stock my size in the first place, and sizes vary greatly across manufacturers, and even styles. Now when i find shoes that fit, i go order at least another 2 pairs online to avoid having to hunt down a new pair that fit well.

One bizarre one, i find when i find some foodstuff i like, the shop will eventually discontinue it, it seems almost personal…

Simply? It’s flawed if you can’t train on new data past 2022 without first checking ai hasn’t tainted it. Dismissing that as simply avoiding model collapse seems to miss the point.
