Massachusetts has a quite prominent law against this.

"When buying groceries—food and non-alcoholic beverages, pet food or supplies, disposable paper or plastic products, soap, household cleaners, laundry products, or light bulbs—you must be charged the lowest displayed price, whether on the sticker, scanner, website, or app.

If the lowest price you saw for an item is $10 or less, and that lowest price is not what you were charged or not what appeared on the in-aisle price scanner, the first item should be FREE. If the lowest price you saw for an item is more than $10, and that lowest price is not what you were charged or not what appeared on the in-aisle price scanner, you should receive $10.00 off the first item."

Not to say it's not happening in a Mass based Dollar Stores but you could be walking away with a lot of free stuff and it would be enough of a deterrent to stomp out the practice. I've had it happen at grocery stores usually at their suggesting.

I imagine Wiz was smart enough to include a big payout if the acquisition doesn't go through. There is a ton of attention on Google by both political parties in the US and the EU is not a fan either.

Very cool to see Cariloop mentioned here in this conversation. I'm the VP of Engineering at Cariloop. We offer Caregiver support and coaching through our coaches who are nurses and social workers. So one thing they can do is find help for services but they can do a lot in navigating a difficult caregiver situation.

Additionally, we do offer medication tracking and other digital caregiving tools. I will also mention like others here, it is important to have things like HIPAA best practices in place for services like this. At Cariloop for example we follow HIPAA best practices, GDPR compliance, and are SOC 2 certified.

My dad kept a lot of his old hot wheels from the late 60s and what is fascinating is those orange tracks even from then still fit with tracks you can buy today. They've modified the design but they still connect.

Makes you think will what you build keep the same interface or at least backwards compatibility 50 years from now? Probably not and most wouldn't blame you. But it brought us a lot of joy to take things we bought in target that day and connect them to those old sets.

You can self host in any number of solutions like bitbucket or gitlab. Not sure about their hosted version.

We've been running the PR agent for a few weeks. It's pretty impressive. We don't always take all of the feedback. In my opinion, it fills a nice gap between human who might have more of the business context and a linter.

They'll disclose and continue to report, just like they already report on Netflix (they have a netflix show), The Verge has taken money from Comcast but antagonize them as well.

Concur fits this analogy well. I'm sure it was great for the accounting team but using it to do expenses (at least couple years ago) was painful. Having used Brex and Ramp they both seem to be the Magnetic Me baby clothes versions of expenses

I had one done earlier this year. The doctor told me he was pretty much booked non stop since the time of that decision. I had jokingly said I missed the peak season of march madness. He said that in the past it was the peak season but times had seriously changed in the last year. He didn't bring it up specifically but he said he had around 5-7 consults a day since June of 2022, with a couple surgeries a day.
