Yea, it's like people don't understand that it's a probability machine. We're steering it to the best probable outcome.
It's not magic, it's math.

Combination of a swipe text keyboard and mild dyslexia. I'm looking for a more accurate replacement to help.

I think you just described most of the reason I like it. Plain text sites tend to scale text, allow pinch to zoom, and are just generally faster.
Post deletion we've seen used for manipulation on other sites, it's a sticky topic. HN seems to want you to stand by your word, so it makes sense here.

It's almost like there is no replacement for human expertise when we need to make usable products for other humans.

When we were in college, one of my friends joked that their stream library was their largest financial asset.
When stream trading was more of a thing, and we had a ramen diet, it was probably true

I feel like the obvious answer this topic is circling is that the left expresses more empathy to those outside their immediate circles (caring for the planet), while the right focuses their empathy inwardly (family values.)
I think this is bait because it's the sort of thinking that 'feels right' without thinking too hard about it.

It's very true. As a merchant acquirer, everything is BigDecimal, only the auth path needs real performance, and FX occurs at a fixed rate per-day which is easy to reconcile.
It's fun reading all the different ways fintech has to adapt their systems for their specific niche.

I view the current tools as more of a multiplier of base skill.
A 1x engineer may become a 5x engineer, but a -1x will also produce 5x more bad code.
