I've been working on https://treehouse.net to hopefully grow into a reddit alternative, starting small with a select set of topics. Bootstrapping a social network is an uphill battle to be sure. But I want treehouse to be the ad-free, bot-free experience original reddit once was.

Using a normal page per blog entry would go a long way to making your site more indexable, readable, shareable and seo-able. (Good article btw).

To solve the network effect you need something 10x better than what people are jumping ship from. Even if you had a cleaned up version of LinkedIn, it wouldn't be so dramatically better that enough people migrate to reach critical mass.

The video is literally marked with "Made with AI" per YouTube's policy.

I hate that this kind of content is so successful, and I think YT could do a lot to lower the algorithmic priority of AI content, but at the end of the day engagement is engagement, and those videos are hugely successful.

People love slop.

It's cheaper to scan the books if you do it destructively. Cost. That's why they're shredding irreplaceable texts. Nothing to do with copyright.

Not a direct substitute old.reddit.com in that we don't support creating custom communities, but the idea is to create something reminiscent of the original reddit, or perhaps a version of Hacker News with a more broad scope of topics. Oh, and you can filter out topics, like AI.
