Justin Trudeau has been in power for 6 years and now he finally wants to address a problem that contributes to a percentage as large as 4% of the real estate market. This man will seriously say whatever feel good crap people wanna hear but don’t actually address problems just to hold onto power.
And yet the amount of support he somehow still has in Canada makes me feel reassured it was a good decision to leave, people in this country will vote for whoever’s most woke even if their actions tell the exact opposite of what they said they stand for.

It used to be fun when it was just my friends, sure once in the while you get that annoying person who’s trying to live a completely different life on social media but overall funny memes, shitposting with friends, checking in at places. Until Facebook implemented the ultimate evil suggestion feature and brought in news articles then everything went to hell.

It's nothing but a feel-good virtue signal boost. Worked for one that fully enabled casual sexual harassments and practiced frat-culture of pressuring workers into drinking alcohol, wouldn't think twice between aggressive cash-burning and laying off workers, severely underpays people who have been with the company for years. CEO blatantly told a journalist to call 1800-EAT-D**.
The fact that such company can get certified makes this program a joke.

i take lesson once a week from a teacher and the primary focus is technique and learning pieces. I'm also in a facebook group where there are some music scholars who like to study the history, culture and systems related to this instrument. After ~8 months of learning I feel more comfortable with the basic techniques now so I've ventured into reconstructing ancient scores and the group has been helpful in helping me understanding certain notations.

Jumping on the Facebook hate wagon is what gets you clicks these days. Apple stated their policies, Facebook did what they asked and complied. It is their business model and revenue being threaten, I don’t understand what else should be done on their end. Mind you, with this policy change and Apple being on their privacy-morale high horse, the other day I found out for Apple to track you for personalized ad targeting is an Opt-out instead of opt-in like they request from all app developers on their platform.

But why? Something I never understand about Twitter is, for your claim, people who have interesting things to say and you want to read about. Why would people be interested in reading a huge essay broken down to 50 tweets instead of just reading a blog posts where you can post comments and discussions in a fashion that makes sense and doesn’t lose the context of the original topic?

that is my guess too. It certainly feels like "there is no good place to keep money". There is so much instability around the world at the moment, it feels even the traditionally more stable ones like real estate and gold are at jeopardy. People are fusing money into anywhere that's seemingly more safe than cash just to make the most out of it in the event that any major political shift happens.

Gosh, I particularly resonate with point #2 although all of them are good points. It seems people on twitter are all constantly angry about something, and it's a platform for the squeakiest wheels to find most success regardless of the quality of their content.
I never understand why so many people in the tech field are fond of it, it's nearly impossible to have any meaningful conversions or real connections.

I wonder what happened... the early days of FB you're still somewhat close to your friend circle and therefore most of the content were personal updates. At then at some point Facebook started suggested links, posts that you have not explicitly followed, news articles that may or may not have been verified. Now every time I check the comments under such posts, it's people arguing with each other, and then people share and spread whatever they see from these suggested posts looking to confirm their existing beliefs even more strongly. And then people for some reason started believing they "own" the right to write whatever they desire on their wall, and it's a platform for spreading their political opinions.
Just less than 10 years ago, it would've been considered very rude to push your religious or political opinions on to others, especially when it's a professional setting it would've been considered highly unprofessional. But nowadays that line doesn't seem to exist anymore.

it works both ways, the ironic thing is people on either side of the spectrum believe they're the good ones and the other side that should be removed by facebook, and don't recognize they're part of the problem themselves.
I miss the days when Facebook was about sharing personal connections, stupid and fun stuff, as a shy kid in high school who didn't speak very good English, facebook has helped me made friends and connect with kids in my school as I was more comfortable talking to them online. Hard to imagine that would ever take place with the way Facebook is today, where you log on to scream at other people's political opinions which are different from yours.

I have the opposite issue, also have around 5 years of experienced, for more than once I have been perceived as a junior during interviews and then after working for 2-3 months managers and teams would throw comments like “we under-leveled you, let’s get you a promo and fix it” “you’re more senior than I thought”. I don’t know what gives the impression during interviews and it’s starting to frustrate me, I just want to be brought in at the right level that reflects what I’m able to offer. I’m a woman if that matters at all and I wonder if anyone else has encountered that and can offer some advice.
