PHP / Laravel. Its not a contest. Its easy to write and setup. It has auth, security, templating and all you need.

Wordpress. Worked in company using Woocommerce for their e-commerce solution, It was profitable at that. That is if you want a quick and simple solution. If you want something less turnkey and more flexible but more tasking, Django or Laravel is a good option.

Don't overcomplicate things, simplicity is often underrated on the web side of development. This is coming from a guy who writes low level embedded c and c++ on a daily basis.

Look at the practical side of things, C++ is going nowhere and its improving. C++ is simple just write and compile. No rustc, cargo and rustup combo. Both languages are good but one is tested and tried.

Is it just me or are NodeJS content management systems like Ghost, Strapi very difficult and slow to install. And when you eventually do install they are resources hungry, large, over-abstracted and have too little in-built tools?

Not a rant kinda person but I curious about others experience. Am I doing something wrong?

Tried it. Had issue with integrating packages and developing across Windows/Linux platform.

Deploying was also hell.

But it was fast, stable and once you solve a problem it is solved 100% .

I have observed this but with Laravel/PHP. If you are a specialist NodeJS is not bad. But if you are a generalist with deadline and business logic to implement a more mature development ecosystem is advisable, in my opinion.
